Still Baffled

When I was young, watching the news one evening, the announcer said a woman in our town had been accidentally shot. Although it was not life-threatening, the bullet was in a sensitive part of her body, and the doctors weren’t able to remove it. So, he said, the bullet’s in her yet.

I went and asked my dad what a woman’s yet is. He looked at me quizzically over the brim of his glasses, and shrugged his shoulders.

To this day I still don’t know. If any of you know the answer, I’m all ears..
