No, it does not. In today’s world, the groom’s family either pays 50% or chooses what parts of the wedding for which to be responsible. We did not pay for any of the brides’ dresses though. Either side’s parents can opt to give a flat check towards the wedding if that’s what they prefer. We have 3 boys.
