Don’t quit, Lennie! Now that you’ve let off some steam … and I do like that last panel’s portrait, haha … take a deep breath and keep on drawing, please :-)
I got out of the music business because of the complaining. Stuffy, pretentious types who had nothing better to do than come up to us after a performance and say things like “the viola section totally muffed that passage. My evening is ruined! The bassoons were out of tune. Can I get my money back?”
Long Island City lost a ton of jobs and opportunities due to a small bunch of complainers. Let’s not lose the Big Picture because of a few sanctimonious bags! Stay with us Lennie!
No, you do NOT get out of the business. For those who don’t like your comic, there is a finger on each hand that you can show them. We wouldn’t mind if all you did was a Sunday comic. What we would mind, however, is not being able to see Ginger anymore. Stay here.
Lenny, whatever you do, don’t quit, you’re great, you’re a fine artist, your sense of humor is terrific. It’s just the squeaky wheel who complains, there’s millions of fans around the world hanging on your every scribble. Besides, you’re probably becoming a millionaire doing your strip.
I thought the “whining kid” issue was more about the t-shirt than the kid. (Since when is it anybody’s responsibility to take care of someone else’s kids?) I enjoy reading the strip and spotting Ginger. Your tales of the trials of being a musician are always good. I would hope you enjoy showing us these snippets of your life MORE then the pain of the complainers. I never noticed any real issues with the strip of the last few days, though I appreciate your efforts to “repair the damage” (not that there ever was any real damage).
Don’t back down or away, there are more of us who appreciate you than there are critics! Your Aretha Franklin story line was unique and wonderful, and a great example of all your comic strip work…it’s personal, it’s funny, it reflects the world we live in, and you seem to be a genuinely amusing, talented, and nice guy. Ignore the “haters” and we will too!
I love this strip – one of my absolute favorites. If anyone doesn’t like it, they just don’t understand Lennie’s sense of humor. It’s the type of humor I love. And I love that it is up close and personal. And, like Katina, I wouldn’t mind if it was once a week – just as long as it’s there! And as OldDesertLizard said – haters gonna hate – and you have to feel sorry for them.
There’s comics I don’t care for, but I would never make comments about it. It’s my personal preference and I just don’t read those comics.
I hope you stick around…. I really enjoy your strip! Also, there may be a way through GoComics to turn off the comments. The gentleman who draws “Pibgorn” does not allow comments. Pretty good idea I think.
You can’t please everybody. You can, however, force the Powers That Be from requiring a comments section here. It worked for Brooke McEldowney. He couldn’t stand the comments, but he couldn’t refrain from reading them.

I don’t know whether to like this strip or not. If I like it does that mean I want Lenny to quit or that I am showing my support for his continuing?

You’re good, Peterson. There are a lot more comic creators here who spread hatred and controversy on a regular basis. No worries.

Still deflecting. Yep, your anger is palpable. We stay miserable until we get honest with ourselves. Make music. You love it.

I read your comic. It’s in my queue. It’s not one that i comment on, but i do read every offering.
Don’t let them get you down.
If you quit, you will be missed by your less critical readers. They, we, I, would notice.
