Hubby would say “But it sure is nice and I really need to replace the one I’ve got.” I’d say no and he’d hold off for a while and bring it up again. This would be repeated several times until I’d give in. Of course this was usually for electronic something or other, not golf equipment. May he rest in peace.
My husband never does that. He asks if we have enough money for something, and I let him know if we can or can’t at that time. I love surprising him with things, because he so rarely does ask for anything.
He says he learned patience as a child, and he’s still content to wait til we can afford things. Good thing, I have zilch patience when I want something badly! LOL! So he steadies me :)
Our rule is that, begging brings an automatic “no” and my husband & I will NOT change our minds. My husband & I budget together, so we’re both aware of our financial situation.
Roger says “Please, can’t I buy it” and Andy replies, “no.” That is, no you can not buy it. Doesn’t her “no” cancel the “not” leaving Roger with just “you CAN buy it?”

I’ve said it before. but Roger is a pitiful excuse for a husband and Dad. Poor Andy has to do the heavy lifting in that family. But she picked him.

The best golf club in the world is nothing if the person swinging it is no good at the game!

It’s so sad that he thinks a new club is going to revolutionize his game.

Why are husband always shown as irresponsible spenders? Wives have been known to spend a small fortune on needless junk.
