Excellent headline, Puck! I think that’s going to become one of my spontaneous-deadpan-with-imaginary-microphone reenactments (along with “Investigative report: Who’s a good boy?”)
Happy birthday or birthday-adjacent day to the Woman’s sister!
Yes, setting a cake on fire and then blowing spittle all over it is definitely a puzzling custom. Should we be sending birthday greetings to the intruder who sits on cats?
Also, thinking of our departed orbster, Skykey. If I recall, his wife had mentioned that a memorial service was being planned for sometime near the Spring equinox. Has anyone heard more info? I had a dream recently about Megan and Tre-C and their adventure at the club, with the “dancing Toms”. Woke up with a smile for that memory. We sure do miss you, Skykey!
Does the Woman not chant ceremonial hymns to the Boys once a year? I do for my cats. Although my singing voice is so bad that they wince until I’m done. ♫
To each their own. I hope they enjoy the cake, and I am sure it is tasty. But on my Birthday, you can have my medium-rare Cheeseburger with pickle and onion when you pry it from my cold, dead hands! :-)
Am I the only one to have noticed that in the first panel the Woman appears to be wearing a shawl and in the third panel it appears to have morphed into a bolero?
Pucky, put this one along side the mystifying “Annual Gourd Sacrifice Ceremony” as Weird Things your People do. At least your Woman isn’t putting you in strange suits to celebrate it.
A big Thank You to everyone who sent good wishes regarding my 3 a.m. sick spell (no corned beef involved). Now back to normal, or at least my normal. Everybody have a good Monday!
Snerk! Ha Ha Ha! Yes Puck, we humans do have strange rituals you will never understand! As we will never understand the cat ritual of ripping back and forth, through the house…for no reason. Screaming at the top of your lungs at 2am…for no reason. So I think we’ll call it even, Puck!
I kinda understand eggs, yet human females lose at least an egg every month, and the chicken eggs for the most part are not fertilized, so….same thing why waste it. Milk and cheese etc are way beyond my understanding why people avoid it, it’s totally renewable.
I very much regret to report that my husband and I had to euthanize our beloved P.J. today. He very suddenly developed bladder stones — he did not have a history of them or urinary issues at all — which blocked his urinary tract. Our vet tried a catheter and then an operation — don’t remember the name of it — but there were two stones embedded, which she could not remove. She referred us to another place for a different operation, but they cautioned that they could not ensure that the same thing wouldn’t happen again. So, we made the VERY difficult decision to euthanize. We are both very saddened! :(

I notice Puck isn’t referring to her as “the Intruder” any more.
Happy Birthday!

Vegan cake? I don’t know what that’s like, but I’m pretty sure I’m better off not knowing.

Puck, this is a ritual to prolong life, I think.

Odd: The Intruder PLUS little balls of fire, and Lupin is nowhere to be seen?? Unless he is being Invisible Lupin right now!

Poor Pucky, being mystified by all of the pagan rituals. And he is so cute and loveable.

And just like the Taggart sisters, they appear to be wearing the same dress in different colors with a similar pattern.

Very well. Ahem. The Mongol Birthday Dirge will be solemnly intoned for Georgia’s sister, the “cat-sitting intruder.”
