That’s what moms do. They never get over loving you and wanting to care for you no matter how old and “mature” you think you are. That’s the way my mom always was, always wanting me to be safe and happy.
She always had my back even when I didn’t think I needed anyone backing me up. She was always ready to jump right in if I needed her.
She became my best friend as I matured and fun buddy. I would love to have her fix my scarf or remind me to take my gloves again.
I sure miss her. You never really, fuilly realize how precious moms are until they are gone. Well, some moms at least.
The last panel reminds me of a scene from one of my favorite movies, “A Christmas Story.” The younger son, Randy, is getting bundled up by his mom to go to school in a snow suit and one of the longest scarves I’ve ever seen in my life! By the time she gets done with him, the only thing you can see are his eyes!!!
Remember when John and Elly went to the airport to pick them up when they first arrived and Lizzie hid? Now everybody is taking them to the airport so that they can go home.
Darkeforce, you know it’s cold when your eyelashes freeze. Your nose hairs don’t, because you’ve got the scarve wrapped around your lower face twice. (Upper face and head: two hats.)

And don’t forget your hat, Johnny. And is that wife of yours feeding you enough? Maybe you should move home with us, Johnny.

@puppybreath, great post. So true! On a lighter side, if John had on a snow suit, he would surely have to go to the bathroom.
