    I am absolutely convinced that high heels were invented by the Marquis de Sade. I’m glad I’m a guy and don’t have to wear them.

    I’ve heard women discussing their “absolutely cute” shoes. “Now if you put a tissue here and wear a band aid there, you can wear them for about 15 minutes before excruciating pain sets in, but, oh, they look so darling.”

    Fun fact – high heels were originally worn by men. Louis XIV used to “parade around with very tight fitting high heeled shoes, very highly decorated. His critical badge of honour was a red heel, and he wouldn’t allow anybody else in the French court to wear them.” They were an important status symbol, and restricted to the nobility.
