I love the calm expression on Elizabeth’s face as she just pulls the socks off.

For some reason, we lost a week of dailies. We looked in the archives, pulled out old negatives and checked the collection books - and still, six days out of this year were missing. After an exhaustive search, Kevin called and asked me to draw up a new week of dailies to fill in the space and keep the year’s work on track. This is the week!

Now, why didn’t I think of doing that to my little brother? He’d still be bawling his head off 50+ yrs later.

Check microfilms at library for newspapers that carried this strip. Takes time but it works.

Would that be an anti-wedgie with tights?

I can see Elly putting a pair of tights on Lizzie under her pants. If it’s really cold (and they are in Canada, after all!), tights would provide her with an extra layer of warmth.

They also help protect you from the itchier undies grandma gives you.

I am AllanV … just a member. As JP said, I just read both GoComics and FBorFW.com/strip_fix so I can see what Mrs. Johnson has to say.

As for Mike not realizing they were socks … when I was his age, I didn’t know the difference between leotards, tights and socks for girls! They all looked the same to me.
