And now it is verified. A teacher. I wonder when he will just go after any teacher when his pattern turns up to eleven, called escalation. So far it is a wrong done that he uses to teach them death. What will she do to get on his RADAR?
Yesterday and today, I presume those papers the kids and this pressman are holding are “fresh off the press” samples as part of the tour. The art would have been better if it depicted something on the paper – it looks like they are holding and looking at blank sheets.
Also, I’m guessing Joe was going for a “retro” sort of look, but very very few pressmen at a big city daily wear aprons today. Too much danger of the front of the apron getting snagged on the extremely fast moving rotary machinery. A work shirt tucked into jeans or work pants is most likely what you would see in a modern pressroom. Oh, well, I’m just glad Mike and Joe still have a newspaper in their Tracy town.
Well of COURSE the teacher Bonnie. After all, MOST of Tracy’s villains have a personal vendetta or some connections to Tracy, his family or friends. Will Tracy ever investigate a homicide that has nothing to do with the MCU?
Alt Script: 1- ELLIE MAE: Let’s see if any of the city fellers on the next floor will buy our paper towels. 2- BARN: Who’s that with the kids? SHORT ORDER COOK: That’s Ellie Mae, one a their classmates. She’s lookin’ to get a 6th grade education like her cousin-fiancee` Jethro. Now what can I get you to eat? 3- BARN: I’ll have what she’s having. SHORT ORDER COOK: What? She ain’t eatin’ anything. BARN: It’s a joke. Haven’t you ever seen ‘When Harry Met Sally’? SHORT ORDER COOK: I don’t know Sally or Harry. BARN: ‘Sleepless In Seattle’? SHORT ORDER COOK: Nope. Never been there. BARN: ’There’s Something About Mary’? SHORT ORDER COOK: Wouldn’t know. Never met her. BARN: STOP IT! JUST STOP IT!!!! Ham on rye please…
Given who her father is, I wonder if Bonnie ever carries a gun (though not at school, of course). If she does, the killer might be in for a very unpleasant surprise.
Would a serial killer (or any killer, for that matter) ask someone else questions about a potential victim that might be traced back to him? If the killer has a job in TracyTown, why did the killings start in Tacoma? & I thought this newsroom sequence was taking place simultaneously with the scene of Tracy & Joe Sampson meeting at police HQ, with Bonnie showing unexpectedly with coffee & donuts?
Mike has been very cagey so far on the question of the true identity of The Professor (Teacher’s Pet, if you prefer). Broad hints have pointed at Bar Tar, but there has been nothing probative. I had begun a while ago to become suspicious that we’re being fed a dinnner of Red Herring and that seemingly meek brother Reggie “Rocks” Tar is actually the serial killer (what else is his rôle in this tale?). As Monk used to say, “I could be wrong,” and if I am I’ll trade in my plate of Red Herring for a serving of Crow without complaint. Bar may find Bonnie attractive, but if he goes home and casually tells his brother about her, she’d be set up for being added to the count by Rocks….

Even if there is already a confession, I still wanted to see Rocks as the killer

Hard to a decent picture of a contemporary printer’s devil. Here’s a good one that shows how far back the image goes:
