Oh, you were that kind of girl. Thankfully your girls missed that gullibility gene. Although I suspect your Mike would pull that on a girl he knows is crushing on him, just like your Colin.

That’s a duffel bag not a newspaper courier bag. Even though this is supposed to be based on a real story from Lynn Johnston, my guess is that she was looking at other parts of Collin/Calvin than his newspaper bag.

No worries. Soon she’ll learn how much power cute girls have over guys.

And a promising career as a stalker was nipped in the bud.

What a letdown.

Sundays and Wednesdays were the heaviest to carry, all those inserts and coupons!, I tried a bicycle, the way my route worked I would have to dismount at least 58 out of 71 stops, not worth it!

He is young and handsome with a willing girl pack mule. What is not to like?

Kinda off topic but I still fondly remember (5th. & 6th. grades) a boy named Loyd who would carry my violin — and pretend the case was a sub-machine gun!

Although he enjoyed having company, he never returned my feelings. That didn’t deter me. I was sure, with perseverance, he’d come around.

I know grown men who still treat women this way. Run away all you “used” females!! This is a majorly disrespectful action on his part.

Newsprint paper is essentially compacted wood fiber; carrying tightly wrapped newspapers is like carrying a load of wood.

I’m told that the fervent wish of most newspapers is to be morning issues.

For Better or Worse Michael our paper boy, and I became very good friends over the years. In later years, he told me to come over the next day. He wanted me to be the first to know that he was gay (I didn’t bother telling him I had figured that out already since my mom and dad had several gay friends of both sexes). I wished him the best as he was off to college and saw him one more time in later years, he had a partner and they were going to adopt a child. I wished him the best.

Eventually, love makes fools of us all.

I was never a paper boy, but I knew the ones in my neighborhood. They never had sacks THAT big!

Here in my town, the age requirement for delivering newspapers is 18 years and over.
