Good luck, Rat, on finding an Internet provider that doesn’t do cable TV.

The cable company will have to appropriate action for such negative comments.

Based on their retaliation scale, they will Bomb Rat’s internet connection speed to the 96 kbs for the remainder of the contract.

5G is supposed to be the answer but then the Chinese (Huawei) maybe be capturing your data to sell to advertisers. They could put Facebook out of business. Who needs military secrets when there is real money to be made.

The cable portion of my bill is a pretty small fraction. The biggest expense is my internet, which I’d want anyways even if I cut the cord. Plus, when you add up all the streaming expenses, you wind up paying as much if not more than what cable costs.

How does one get local network channels with streaming? I basically only watch the evening news and then some science or history channels. And I watch some of the sports networks like NBCSN or Olympic Channels. Not sure I can get that stuff without regular cable. I don’t need the movie channels. I get movies for free from the library.

I have Internet through the Phone company since cable isn’t even offered where I live in rural Southern Kentucky.

I have an Indirect tv company, and you can’t blink—because if you do they raise the price.

It’s a trap I tell you, a trap….

I get just Internet from the cable company, no TV included. I think it’s about $25 a month less than their cheapest package with TV, haven’t checked recently. Still not exactly what I’d call cheap. There are places I can go for free WiFi, but if I want Internet at home, there don’t seem to be any better choices.

Two words – Google Fiber

A lady I know asked about Bombast. I tried time and again to warner about cable. There’s a full spectrum of evil out there.

It’s going to be a while for people to realize that in most cases, cutting the cable is actually more expensive than the cable company’s TV offerings (or you skip the whole Game of Thrones type thing).

Personally, I don’t really care about GoT, but my wife watches it.

I cut the cord to Comcast. With my mobile service I have unlimited high speed data for a lot less than Comcast. I just hook my Samsung Note 9 to my television with an adapter and stream all the shows and movies that I want.

I haven’t had cable for years but that means I’m dependent on the phone company for internet. Satan is everywhere.

You could always go “open air” Rat,it matches that space between your ears!

You can always go with the phone company. I don’t want to name the one I use, but it’s initials are AT&T. You know, the company with the Death Star for a logo!

The absolute pits for me was satellite internet 10 years ago. All we had to do was look at the computer cross-eyed and we’d exceed our data allowance, which resulted in dialup “speed” for 24 hours.

If you manage to exist without cable TV or a satellite dish for TV, you wind up on “the list” and cable company reps will knock on your door and try and talk you back into the fold.

“Oh yeah, well I’m going to complain to Congress!”

“Um, we own them, too!”

Rat, you can always use your mobile data.

Oh, just you wait until connectivity lapses require a service call! You’ll WISH you were dealing with Satan.

If the cable company takes control of the beer and pizza industries, too, then we’re all screwed.

Many of us have come to a similar conclusion.

I work for the Cable Company. Which one doesn’t matter. But please note that while we are not “Satan Incarnate”, we do know where you live, what you watch, how many times you watch it, and who you watch it with. Brrraaahaaaahaaaa! (Supposed to be an evil laugh.)

Scumcast……Crapcast

There are times when I want tell Comcast that! Why? Because they bought NBC from General Electric, give NBC and Universal a shotgun wedding, got rid of its radio counterpart and now it’s a product of iHeartRadio (or should I say iFartRadio) and adopted The Weather Channel! So I agree with Rat! Screw them!

Yeah…‘Bombast’ is a lousy company…but so is my provider, ‘CenturySink.’

When I changed to a local WiFi-type internet provider, they wondered why I chose them. I explained about my experience w/ Xfinity/Comcast. Their response? “Those folks are our best sales people!”

It costs a tad less. The monthly bill is the same number every time, to the penny. It’s a lot slower, but fast enough to stream one movie at a time. When I call them for service (maybe once a year or so), I end up talking to a human first, and the right human after no more than one redirect (and often the guy who picks up is the right human).

And did I mention that the price is utterly stable?

I have a similar love-hate (well, mostly hate) relationship with my provider, the big telephone company with the three-capital letter name….

If you bundle everything and it goes out you can’t use the phone. You’re going to be out of luck unless you have a landline or a cell.

You and I are done, not you and me are done.

When I had cable, I did both Comcast and Playstation Vue at different times. I cut them both. And Century Link provides my internet.
