I’m sorry to say that the original programme, called ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ was invented by the BBC and exported to 32 countries. Please accept my apologies, as a Brit, for this terrible programme…

the wisconsin guy’s cheese head was on too tight and interfered with his thought process. It would seem less costly and less traumatic if he had just pushed the ‘off’ button on the remote.

but then we wouldn’t be talking about him, would we?

I also do not like this show. Besides, they say, “stars”; and most of the people are not what I call stars.

I like reality shows that have things I can identify with (cooking decorating and even dress design) but totally detest American Idol and Dancing (tho’ I remember a ballroom dance show that was not bad - back when we had limited channels, but now Fuggedabodit).

Don’t get excited Plods with Beer, the name came from a much older programme where two teams from around the UK each week competed in ballroom and modern dancing. That was ‘Come Dancing’. The BBC then ‘vamped up’ the programme, made it more of a reality show, added ‘Celebrities’ dancing with professional dancers and called it “Strictly, Come Dancing”.

For the full horror, see this link… http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ann+widdecombe+come+dancing&hl=en&client=opera&hs=V22&sa=X&rls=en&channel=suggest&prmd=ivnsuo&source=univ&tbs=vid:1&tbo=u&ei=jk48TZCWNs-ShAeEurnECg&oi=videoresultgroup&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCsQqwQwAA
