Opals insecurities are flowing….which she may deny tomorrow she ever admitted them! Porta potties are gross, confining, smelly and out in the PUBLIC! EVERYONE SAW YOU GO IN AND THEY’LL WATCH It the whole time you’re in there, and when you COME OUT. Horrors!
My sons played at a baseball tournament at the rich cake-eater suburb across town. Their ballpark was deluxe, top-notch, only the best, but their upscale porta-potties smelled just like ours back home.
I was told early on to always check under the lids of porta-potties, latrines, etc, for spiders, especially black-widow spiders. They are not after us, but might see us as a threat and bite in self defense. I always checked, and only once did I find a black-widow spider under the lid. But once was enough to make me a believer in this little safety tip!
I find nothing irrational about a fear of spiders (or snakes, for that matter – thank you, Jim Stafford). And while I understand the fear of porta-potties, at my age my need often supersedes the fear! The good news is that I usually don’t have to sit down.
When I was a kid in Australia, the first two houses had outdoor toilets consisting of a wooden seat on top of a large oil drum in a tiny wooden cubicle. Instead of flushing we had to pour on sawdust and disinfectant. Yes, I hate spiders!

That’s not a phobia. A phobia is an irrational fear.

besides for claustrophobics and germophobics, how would anyone be afraid of porta-potties?

Spiders live in porta-potties, also.

Most I have been in are stinky and smelly. I would not want to sit on THAT seat! Especially in July at 90 degrees!

Portapotties are nasty. I would rather take my chances outside, lol!

I once managed the office for a guy who had a very successful business leasing and servicing roll-off trash containers and porta-potties.
On the back of the trucks that serviced the toilets, he had painted: " It may smell like sh*t to you … But it smells like money to me! "

Sometimes there is no other place to “go”. Women can’t hide behind a post very well.

Heard a germy horror story recently about nasty contagions left behind by drug users using the porta-potties to shoot up.

Women do have a justified issue with porta-potties.

Those things aren’t toooo bad, if you stand up while using them. But of course that’s not a realistic option for most females.
