I wonder if Charles Boyce and Tom Clancy are the same person. They both manage to let obvious spelling and grammatical mistakes make it into publication.
Arghhhh! The purpose of grammar is to communicate clearly. Presumably the purpose of speaking or writing is to communicate something that the speaker believes is worthwhile to communicate to another. Ending a sentence with a preposition, and using redundancies obscures clarity and suggests that the speaker/writer does not care enough about the subject of the communication, or the persons to whom the communication is made, to be clear.
