Aww, look at Burt’s paw on the pup’s shoulder. And that is some look Burt is shooting the crew.

Poor Doggie! Wish I could reach through the screen and give you some gentle pats and hugs. Don’t be sad. The boys are just badly misinformed. I’m sure Burt and Tommy have your back and will help set them straight.

I have a Saturday question. The other day there was someone mentioned wanting Lupin and quote about the ceiling being the floor on a T-shirt and Georgia added a comment that she is working on new designs and I thought a good question would be to ask what people would like to see on T-shirts or other merch.

I think there should be one with Baba Mouse, maybe saying the music was great in the 90’s though that quote came from the Halloween special that isn’t going to be in the newspapers.

I was waiting for that line! Shapeshifting dogs. Heehee.

But aren’t cats shapeshifters also? They can make themselves bigger, after all!

The cats learned to put their instincts in the background and befriend the robber mice. I am sure they will do the same for this friendly doggie. A good example for us all.

In fairness to the boys, dogs do hunt in packs, seem to be shapeshifters, and frequently show aggression to cats and frisbees. “Wild and unpredictable” and “bitey enemy” do seem to be a bit of a negative stereotype, though.

The dogs who live next door to us seem quite predictable. One of them just looks at us, the other one barks a bit. She-In-Whose-Service-Our-Lives-Find-Meaning does not approve of them at all, and sets off the barking by sitting near the fence and glaring at them.

This is my house when the grandcats visit. Our pupper came to his furever home as a 9 week old rescue and gained three older feline sibs. The felines quickly let him know his place and it is all good. The grands, however, live in an apt and had never seen a dog until they came to visit. Our pupper loves cats and wants to be their friend. They hiss and snarl at him. He looks so sad and confused by their behavior.

May the 4th be with you all.

Boys, boys, not all dogs are aggressive towards cats. The pug upstairs and Yum Yum have reached an agreement: Roxy won’t bark and Yum Yum, and Yum Yum will allow Roxy to keep her eyes.

Our huge male cat actually likes dogs, as long as they’re quiet and not bigger than cocker spaniel size. He’ll drag me down the sidewalk to meet some tiny dog and it’s owner will pick it up and hastily cross the street. I can’t convince them that he just wants to touch noses.

I object, Georgia! You’re perpetuating canine stereotypes. (OK, so it’s your cat characters who are spreading lies, but still … )

Dogs are not cats’ mortal enemies, they’re just a little … well … in-your-face for most cats’ tastes. And if it’s a question of wildness, then kitties take the prize, not dogs, as biologists and zoologists will testify. Cats are the critters — lovable domestic companions though they be — we humans just can’t squeeze all the wild out of, no matter how much we may hug them.

May the fourth be with you!!! Our first dorglums came into a house ruled by 4 cats. Gentleman that he was, Benjamin acquiesced to their rule and everybody got along. Dorglums #2, got a severe nose-whacking from Buster The Christmas Day Kitty (thank you James Herriot; we got Buster 12/22, which was also my Mom’s BD) but after a few months, they because best buds!!! They’d play together and Buster would bunt and rub and wrap his paws around Jean-Luc’s nose and purr like crazy. They’d curl up together in the evenings, when it was cold.

Can this strip get any better? Fortunately the answer is YES. I don’t know how Georgia manages to do all she does, and still make both of her comics better and better. I wonder if there will ever be a Swan Eaters book as well as [hopefully] more BCN books.

I’d just as soon not have dogs in this strip. I live in a very busy area where a lot of people walk. I walk 3 to 5 miles a day. I have been attacked twice, totally unexpected and unprovoked, just walking down a city street minding my own business. In one, a dog just lunged at me and tore a huge chunk completely out of the upper sleeve of my winter coat. If it had been summer, that chunk on the sidewalk would have been my arm. It happened so fast, I could hardly believe it. The owner never apologized, but she paid for the damage, and we walked to my home together to make the arrangements, with the dog being as calm and friendly as can be as if it hadn’t just tried to kill me. Recently, a huge dog on a retractable leash suddenly threw itself in the air, lunging at my throat. No warning whatsoever. The owner managed to hang onto the leash and yank the airborne dog down just inches from my face. It was terrifying. No apology. The owner (and the dog) acted like nothing happened, and I wasn’t about to stand there and argue with her when she had that walking weapon with her. Then last summer, I was at the farmers market purchasing fruit and felt something on my leg. A man was holding the leash of a dog, watching as the dog with lifted leg urinated on my pant leg. He just watched it, never said a word, never apologized. I glared at him in shock and he sneered at me like it was my fault for being there. I think he thought it was funny.

Hold on a second Boys. My Weimaraner (we call him crackhead) loves his rubber frisbee (we call it his crack). He will not go anywhere with out it. He won’t go outside or get in the car without it. He is addicted to his crack. If he leaves it outside the command is go find your crack. I have to keep extras in the car and at home just in case or he’ll have a melt down if he doesn’t have his crack. As far as cats both my boys love cats and not just the taste. Just this morning all 180lbs of Jasper walked up to the cats and rubbed noses and then basted each and every one.Dually the Weim prefers sleeping with them for the purr I think. KK has a crush on Jasper and will give him massages on his neck at night while watching TV.

Today we finally managed to get WiFi into the carrier and took him to the pound to see if he was chipped. He wasn’t. Then, since we were less than a mile from our vet I decided to take him over for a checkup before we brought him in the house. They did a better scan for a chip but didn’t find one and started giving him a check-up before getting his shots. Unfortunately, he was positive for feline leukemia. And so, we had to make the hard, responsible decision to have him put to sleep. We only had him for two and a half weeks. It still hurts. RIP, WiFi.
