I don’t really get the attraction of the bat flipping. All I can think of is back in 4th Grade (early 1960’s) when the class was playing softball, that if you tossed the bat or it went where it shouldn’t after you hit the ball, you were automatically called out. I was a great hitter then but did get called out a number of times (also if you hit more than 3 foul balls).
