Oh my – reminds me of our marvelous Chartreuse Silver; she died from heart failure (late diagnosed weak heart from birth on with only ten years) – but before that, she was a fantastic mouse hunter and jumped high up in the air to catch dragon flies. Always friendly. A rescue, obviously abandoned when half a year old – she survived on her own first in our garden (well; there was old cat food from our tomcat for the hedgehogs and a small pond with good, clean water) before we took her in (of course we informed animal shelter if she was missing. Luckily, she wasn’t and could stay with us until that was confirmed). We still miss her…

Our current cat is a rescue, too, but completely different – not a year old and traumatized when we took her in, but she loved us from day one despite being highly aggressive when scared. She’s nearly 12 years old now, but healthy (knock on wood).

I may start to cry!! My baby (my pic<<=) is 17, and she has heart failure with poor appetite. We love on her every moment we can. ❤

Missy, our Lilac Siamese, was rescued when her first owner had to give her up due to moving into a senior living facility. She is 19, on hypertension, thyroid, and kidney meds, and gets sub-Q water every other day, but she’s active and the Vet says her labs look exceptionally good. She seems determined to get to at least 21. Our 4 young rescue girls treat her with great respect and deference.
