It’s time for some old time baseball, Red, to paraphrase the catchline from “Slapshot”.

I say “Squirrel!” and our dogs pop up from a dead sleep, charge down the stairs and out the dog door. They’ve never caught, but they’ve put the fear of terriers into a few.

Offensive interference is an act by the team at bat which interferes with, obstructs, impedes, hinders, or confuses any fielder attempting to make a play.

Squirrels are offensive to the fielder – Red, you’re out.

That would be fun. Imagine American football played like that. Unnecessary roughness? 15 yards and for 1 minute of time the penalized team has to play without the penalized player. Same for face masking and horse collar tackles and other such greater than usual bodily injury penalties. And don’t get me started on the NBA. Technical foul by the coach? One man down for 30 seconds. Flagrant foul? Out for a minute. Flagrant 2? Out for 90 seconds. After one week the league would be so clean.

Then why did you wait until you were already there to complain?

Rover started it – he was yelling “Hey batter, hey batter, hey batter – SWING!”

LOVE the panels with Rover gauging the trajectory of the ball and preparing to catch it! Big applause to the artist, Brian Basset!
