Leray is very mature-when we moved to a new hospital and updated the room service to a standard menu, the kids (and some of the parents-we provide meals for parents rooming in) refused to eat the artisanal mac & cheese, they only wanted the stuff out of the box. Didn’t like the baked French fries either. While I ate a fair amount of stuff out of the blue box growing up-I definitely prefer my own farm style (not with a creamy sauce but where the macaroni is layered between thick slices of Colby cheese (cut from the horn) and baked until melted-has a nice gooey, chewy texture similar to a good lasagna. (Notice, no peas are involved in the creation of this dish).
Wife and I found a delicious way to make Chili Mac in a hurry. One boils up a pot of spaghetti while the other goes and buys two servings of Wendy’s chili. Bring home and mix.

I sort of hope that Miss Lisa being a bad cook doesn’t turn into a trope for this comic.
