If nothing else, the timing is good for this strip, as early May is the annual memorial period for law enforcement. National Law Enforcement Week this year is next week, May 13-17 (the memorial candlelight vigil at the National LEO Memorial in DC is the 13th) but many jurisdictions do their local observations prior to that. California, for example, held their state ceremony yesterday. Couple that with the several officers killed in just the past few days, and I think a slow, respectful, memorial strip is absolutely appropriate, and I appreciate it. I have too many friends’ and colleagues’ names on the wall, so I admit I’m probably biased on this one, though…
I never curse, or use racist, sexist, violent or vulgar language yet I’m singled out. (Unless you still think it’s all the luck of the draw). I really should just go away.
Always impressive art work and with more writing than we usually get and I am loving it. Probably one of the few. Exposition can be a problem. I see it as informative.
Maybe this “Minute Mystery” should have started off with Officer Hart’s murder, then have Tracy & Pat called in to solve it, and in the process exposing all the crime & corruption taking place in HomeWood. That way we’d have both an entertaining story, instead of what seems like a daily visit to a Wikipedia page with drawings, & a tribute to law enforcement officers who risk their lives for us daily.
Great strip today, both art and book! And in every aspect so very Chicago! (Apologies to readers everywhere else, but as a native Chicagolander I find that this really speaks to me: I read it in the news almost every day….)

I find it all very interesting. I will be amazed if they can wrap it up neatly. A pleasure to read it.

Weegel radioed in,
“I could write off a visit to the family as a business expense for research purposes.”
Start filling out that paperwork !

We are being overwhelmed with background info on Weegel’s edition of Minit Mysteries that is kind of lacking in the regular Tracy story

The “End of Watch” call brings to mind all the real cops commemorated in the “Hall of Fame” panel in this strip.

Good morning™, grieving readers!
Looks like Tracy’s memorial roast is about to be interrupted by important news.
Epub versions of Jim Doherty’s two “Plainclothes” stories are now on the page:

LOL Another careless deleted post by yours truly.
I really don’t care but when will those who insist it’s just a coincidence acknowledge that I’m being singled out for censorship!

TRACY (thinking): Whew! I can have a break from this narration so I can take this call!
