Panel #1: It’s about time Locher developed a sense of humor
Panel #2: Yesterday Morbid’s right hand was empty. Today he’s holding a chain. Shouldn’t Thick have told him to stop playing with it? Or does Thick expect Morrie to chain himself up? Even better, will Thick eventually decide it’s safe to holster his pistol and approache Moe, because after all Thick has a gun and Mordred doesn’t?
Panel #3: Back to the inane chatter and panel repeats.
So Thick is back to scolding Mordred? Locher must have thought up some new insults. “You double park! Your chewing gum loses its flavor on the bedpost overnight! You didn’t listen to me when I said to vote against William Jennings Bryan!”
The story drags on. This had to happen, Locher couldn’t kill off a character this week because he still has to fill out a month before retirement. So, four more weeks of threatening each other and noticing that the storm is getting worse and so on.
Hmmm— supposing that AWACS plane does find Tracy’s wrist geenie, how do they let the Napperville police know about it?? All communications down and so on. Rescue seems difficult at best now too, judging by the waves I doubt you could fly a helicopter safely and it looks like a small boat might be impossible too. Tracy and Mordred appear to be stuck until the storm lets up a bit.
The plot simmers and seems to thicken
‘Cause Mordy just tried to choke the chicken
We now return to what passes as the norm
The only action is coming from the storm
Tracy returns to a course proven ineffective
Spewing abuse and hurling invective
In this battle of wits, Tracy should be alarmed
It’s a fight to the finish and he’s only half armed
The AWACS is in the air, it circles overhead
But it won’t avail Thick if he’s lying there dead
A deadly game of waiting is about to commence
He should shoot Mordred now, if he had any sense
But Tracy is a hero, so stalwart and true
Well, that was the Tracy that we all once knew
His present incarnation is lacking to be sure
He now is a craven and acts like a cur
But there’s a new day dawning when this storm has past
We just wish it would get here, really, really fast.
Thank you all, for your more than kind comments yesterday.
Anyone know a good agent?
Hey Flight Suit! Thick DOES have the gun pointed at Mordred! Did you ever think that Thick might be on his knees? His left hand might be wiping……I’ll leave it there. I dunno.
Just shoot him in the face, chain him to a couple cinderblocks, drag him into the river, and be done with it. When asked what happened to him, say that he escaped during the confusion caused by the storm and was possibly picked up by “the car that was following you”. When and if he is found, say that he may have been killed by the driver of the car that was following you–also, don’t forget to throw your gun into the river. Launch a fruitless investigation and chalk it up as a loss when you find nothing. The End.
Wonder Warthgog, you could try Locher’s literary agent. If that guy can sell Locher’s stuff, getting you a contract should be a snap. You can contact Locher’s agent through the summoning spell on page 389 of the Necronomicon.
Why is Dick aiming at the ceiling instead of the killer?
If he were packing an M1911, my understanding is that that’s how you fire the thing: the recoil is so fierce that you want the gun moving down when you pull the trigger. However, his weapon has morphed from something that was clearly an automatic to something that looks as if it’s having trouble deciding whether it is that or a revolver.
Locher spared us the “Close doesn’t count except in horseshoes” cliche appropriate to Morbid’s final remark in yesterday’s strip, but then he has the Dickster make like a six-year-old and inflict “You don’t scare me” on us. Sheesh.
Got it! Thick needs Mordrek to save his career. If Thick shoots him, he has to explain what happened. The truth will end his career, even in a place as corrupt as Naperville. So here’s the plan:
Thick delivers his prisoner to the court, alive and well. Mordrek now describes, in boring yet honest detail, everything that happened. Thick yawns and says “What, you believe him? Of course he wants to make me look bad! Now here’s what really happened … storm … detour … thought I remembered an alternate route around that flooded intersection … Mordred got loose and attacked me … car went into the water … escape, pursue, struggle, I won.”
This is no dumber than anything Locher has done so far.

I will simply note that a bullet through the kneecap does wonders to subdue a suspect, even if the pistol does seem to change size from day to day.
Is this Locher’s Blue Period?

Being a far-right whacko, Locher doesn’t believe in using guns to settle grievances…
