On another matter…Our kitten, Belle, has to check out what ever is going on in the house. I came home yesterday and found Mittens down stairs where she usually is. Up in the Bedroom, I found Giblet and Joel but no Belle. I looked around and under the bed, but no Belle. Giblet was sitting on the bed and I asked him: “Giblet, where is the Kitten?”
Giblet looked and me and seemed to reply: “What Kitten? I don’t know that of which you speak!”
Then Joel walked over and made a point of looking at the closet door. From the other side I heard a muffled squee and mew. I opened the closet door and a small, black, blur raced out of the closet at half the speed of light. It stopped about middle of the room, looked at Giblet and I, and let out an even louder Meow. Then trotted off to the litter box and food bowls. Her tail held high and swishing back and forth.
I looked back at Giblet, he looked at me with both ears up and attentive, and seemed to say: “Oh, you mean that kitten.” I am not sure, but I think Giblets had a small smile on his fuzzy little face. He also displayed all the signs of a cat that was very pleased with himself. Giblet then turned his back on me and laid back down on his blankie.
So far, I don’t the whole story. Giblet, Joel and Belle are keeping quiet about it. But I think Giblet has gotten a little even for the Kitten-Bounce-Off-His-Butt episode.
We got a new kitten (Sassy) at Christmas. This morning I got up and all the pictures on one wall were hanging crooked. I thought we had had a small earthquake tremor. Sassy watched me straighten them and then jumped up on the back of the couch and ran along putting them back the way she wanted them. I hope she loses interest in them soon.
I am so sorry to hear of Boberts loss and I know the heartbreak involved. The following was a poem that my mom loved, she said it gave her comfort when she lost several beloved pets through her life. She said it was given to her by a friend when she lost her first loved cat as an adult, and she kept the card it was printed on over the years. I have the card in my hand now, and its looking bedraggled and worn, but the words still speak a message of love..My Forever PetThere’s something missing in my home,I feel it day and night,I know it will take time and strengthBefore things feel quite right..But just for now, I need to mourn,my heart – it needs to mend.Though some might say, “its just a pet”I know I’ve lost a friend..You’ve brought such laughter to my home, and richness to my days.A constant friend through joy or loss, with gentle, loving ways..Companion, pal and confidante,a friend I wont forget. You’ll live always in my heart,my sweet forever pet.
God Bless You. Bobert WILL be waiting for you at that Rainbow Bridge.
dammit, I am, as my mom would say, a woosie. I could barely see the words to type them here. Calvin, the people here feel your pain and loss. I know that I am not the only one crying for you. Carry our love with you, today and everyday.
Well, they took out the formatting of the poem, but I am not changing it back to the usual poem state, as I have to get busy and get the boys to day care and me to work. I hope everyone’s day shines!
Hello all. My family could use some prayers and peaceful vibes our way. Our beloved Zoe, best friend, protector, and groomer to cats, had to be put to sleep yesterday. She’d had cancer that spread just about everywhere. It got to her lungs and she began having trouble breathing. When she was no longer interested in the ball, or food, we knew it was time to do the kindest thing for her. Even though we’d had months to prepare for this day, it was still extremely difficult. Cancer stole the life of the best dog in the world to us. She was only 7, and we should have easily had another 7 years with her- the pup that was never sick a day in her life. She will forever be my puppy. Rest in Peace, ZoMcYo. January 31, 2012- May 14 2019.
Dear Orb, I’ve been missing a few strips here due to taking care of my Pucky look a like cat he went into kidney failure and we don’t know what caused it. Spent a week trying to reverse, but we had to do the right thing and send him across the rainbow bridge on Monday. His brother the Big Gray Kitty is beside himself looking for him. My little girl is like Yay I get your lap back. Funny how they react. Boops to everyone who has lost their furry babies this week and last.
I wasn’t sure about posting this but, with some of the other comments, I think we need a story with a happy ending today so… https://www.metro.news/farmer-saves-fox-cubs-with-c-section-at-side-of-the-road/1558922/

You gotta keep a sharp watch on those socks. They are fiendish for not going where they’re supposed to!
So many adorable Beatrix images in this strip alone, but I particularly love the foreshortening on Beatrix in panel 2! Head-on kitten!

Reminds us of how much energy those kittens have. I’d forgotten as mine are now 9 and 10.

Now what is Beatrix going to do with that plant cutting? Eat it or replant it in a pot?
