Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions about dealing with biting kittens. I passed them on. I thought I would share some pictures of George with you, https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxlx53Al0Mc/?igshid=18vx5eyclhn21https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxlx53Al0Mc/?igshid=18vx5eyclhn21

NO! I just found out that Grumpy Cat passed away last Tuesday, May 14, at age seven. WAY too young for a cat to leave us!

What? And just who does this blasphemous Trevor think he is, not agreeing to cats? Especially this one!

Of course, if he doesn’t, maybe she could stay here? But still!

I just finished the Friday New York Times crossword puzzle! In ink! I can usually finish it through Thursday, but rarely Friday or Saturday. I don’t know if they get harder as the week goes on, or I’m just stupid by Saturday! :D

I think the idea of the benefits of a bookstore cat has been suitably planted and perhaps will come to fruition. Though we all wish Beatrix wouldn’t leave the pink house, you can’t help but root for her as this match seems to stem from her wishes as much as the circumstances.

I do feel bad for the boys though. I know Beatrix has grown on them.

For those of you who missed our dear orbster, Witcheeminx’s checking in with us yesterday (I nearly missed it!) she has lost her dear mother and that’s why she’s not been around: “I haven’t been around cuz my mom passed away on Saturday and we have been making arrangements etc.. We are also cleaning out her assisted living apartment. Have to be out by the end of the month or pay another month. As my brother passed away this time last year, my husband & I are the only ones left to deal with all of this. Thanks for the shout out. I love you guys.” ♥ Can I please ask for prayers, purrs, orb bumps and boops for our dear fellow orbster? (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((healing purrs, prayers, and huggythingys going Witcheeminx’s way and all our orbsters dealing with the loss of loved ones, loss of dear furbabies, terminal illnesses, and personal setbacks))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) We love you all and we’ve got you here in the Mega Orb! ♥♥♥

Witcheeminx, big hugs, boops, and purrs going out to you as you deal with the loss of your mom on top of everything else. Sorry you and your husband have the issue of vacating her apartment; I know how emotional moving (or even clearing out) can be. Lady Bri, thanks for recycling Witchee’s comment of yesterday (cuz I missed it).

I’m sitting here drinking my coffee out of my Grumpy Cat mug and looking at my Grumpy Cat calendar and thinking how much love our animal friends leave us. We’ll miss you Grumpy Cat but we’ll always love you.

Happy Caturday, everyone. I am wondering just how much longer the book store lady can resist Beatrix’s charms and obvious desire to go with her.

My daughter and great-granddaughter, Chris and Saphira respectively, are taking me “mollygagging” this morning. I also have the urge to raid a garden center somewhere. Landlord has a raised “garden box” with day lilies in it. One of the front tenants decided to attack it last week, took all the stones down, ripped out about half the day lilies, and reconstructed the box. There are a lot of interesting gaps around the edges, and I have an urge to fill those gaps with roses and peonies.

    Poor catless one

Thou art in need of a feline

    Protect the shelves,

    Where the books dwell

    Poor catless one.

    …….

    Poor catless one

If customers need to be greeted,

What better way, a cat who will play,

    And accept hugs and skritches.

    …….

Choose a cat with joy without end

Choose a cat, my new people-friend

Choose a cat happy and free,

    Choose any cat, choose me!

. . . FYI: Georgia Dunn – Breaking Cat News“Rest in Peace, Grumpy Cat, also known as Tardar Sauce.I was originally going to have Elvis saying in this painting, “She gave us standards,” because I think he would readily agree with her scowl and kitty complaints. Over the years it’s been said in countless articles and interviews that in real life she was a total sweetheart, and seven is just too soon. Our hearts go out to her owners tonight. Thank you for sharing her grumpy sweet little frown with the world. ❤️❤️❤️"

Beatrix is the perfect companion for Trevor, and he for her. Each has a strength the other lacks, while sharing several in common. They are a perfect team, a “dream team.”

Most cats love plants. Just in an eating kind of way. That reminds me time to grow more cat grass for the babies.

I got my first dog a kitten because he was lonely. That kitten was Miscreant. Those 2 were inseparable. After that dog died it took me 2 years to get another. Now that I have Dually the cats and Dually really love each other. Dually sleeps with 1-2 cats every time he sleeps. Introducing 2 different Great Danes to my cats was easy since the other dogs the cats knew were so laid back with them. Only 1 cats has chosen to run from my Jasper so he chases. Jasper has even found a girlfriend in a Scarlet Macaw. Yes Jasper loves all women no matter the species.

Off topic but a big line of thunderstorms and some maybe tornadoes just went through here. My house doesn’t have any safe place, so we just have to sit and hope. I think some of my guys were giving their emergency broadcasts from under the sofa.

It seems to me that once a cat, kitten, dog or puppy [or any other animal] chooses their human, they seldom take ‘no’ for an answer. Especially with the Good Boys woman to speak for them.
