My high school drama coach told of the trouble he had teaching the Witch how to throw fireballs in a WoO production a few years earlier. She’s hold a wad of flash paper in her hand and light it with a Bic lighter, then throw it. Trouble is, she kept throwing it overhand, so the flames would stream back into her hand and burn it. After much drilling she finally learned to throw it backhand, so the flames would stream away from her. Opening night – overhand.
