    Well, it looks like he poured it on pretty much everything. I suppose you don’t need to be fit and lean to chase down and catch the mighty corn beast. Milking it may take a bit of work.

    Just in case anyone didn’t already know and would be interested to know: If you cut a green corn stalk, the segments closest to the ground are a bit sweet like sugar cane. You can chew it.

    Making it even worse is that the morons in Congress (of both parties) have allowed us the taxpayer to subsidize the corn syrup that is contributing to obesity and other significant health issues. But that’s OK.

    I wonder where he got corn, the technique to make syrup then eat huge quantities of it without dying?

    It all goes back to the long term preparations by Anthropocene humans for the new GMO post Anthropocene time. That is my positive take on the coming Hot House Earth.

    Kind of amusing – in a sad way. Because corn syrup doesn’t fatten you (well, unless you really chug-a-lugged!)

    Corn syrup is glucose. It’s actually good for you (in limited quantities). (Glucose tends to come from veggies.)

    Fructose in VERY small quantities is OK, but too much starts causing liver problems, and the things that get you because of your now fatty liver. (Fructose tends to come from fruits.)

    HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) has had enzymes added to cause some of the glucose to become fructose, typically 42%* fructose or 55%* (esp in soda drinks).

    Table sugar is exactly 50/50 glucose & fructose (honey is composed of around 75% sugars, 50/50** glucose & fructose & around 25% water & other things that don’t matter to this discussion; I say around, because that varies a bit – type of bee, time of year, source of their nectar, etc).

    Notice that just looking at the sugars (glucose & fructose), HFCS, table sugar, and honey are nutritionally about the same. They are all equally bad for you in large quantities – like say 16 oz of soda pop (or approximately 1/4 of a 2-liter bottle). And, yes, I’d be a hypocrite if I told you not to drink that much. But we’d all be healthier if we didn’t drink it.

    By the way, fruits with all that fructose are considered good for you, because you consume so much other stuff with it that the fructose is in that OK range. But sorry to spoil it for you – fruit juices have too much fructose, so aren’t good for you except in moderation

    Yes, there are other numbers – say 90% HFCS – from which the others are made, or for BIG food manufacturers, where they carefully use tiny quantities so that the resulting product has as much fructose & glucose as if they’d used 42 or 55.

    Honey over all would be around 35%-40% fructose, 32%-38% glucose, and 25%-30% water (plus traces of proteins, minerals – aka dirt, etc) – so as close to table sugar as 42 or 55 HFCS.

    Fructose is best in the fruits they are in combined with the fiber.
