I was drinking lemonade yesterday. I got the rest of my garden planted (except some green beans I want to plant in about 2 weeks so my beans won’t all ripen at the same time). Planting garden in thirsty work! Today I planted 6 rows of sweet corn and a bunch of tomato plants. I see my first planting of green beans are just poking though the ground and the watermelons are too. The potatoes are strong and healthy looking. I’m hoping for better weather this summer so I can get a decent harvest. Things didn’t do well last summer. And it appears that the polar vortex killed the peach tree that I just planted in my back yard last year. Bummer! That tree produced the best tasting peaches I’ve eaten in years.
Get ready for June. Besides being Dairy Month, it’s also National Give a Bunch of Balloons Month. Here are some details on that.
NATIONAL GIVE A BUNCH OF BALLOONS MONTH
Every day in June, National Give a Bunch of Balloons Month brings joy to a child battling an illness or struggling with a life-altering diagnosis. When limitations, treatments or hospital stays prevent children from the joys of childhood, their smiles fade. National Give a Bunch of Balloons Month encourages giving children we know with an illness something to smile about by bringing them a bunch of balloons.Often days of treatments and restrictions associated with an illness are long and tiring. Being ill is no fun especially for a child. A delightful bouquet of balloons brings energy to a room and delivers a smile to a child’s face. While it may not be a cure, the balloons brighten their day and add a distraction from their mundane reality.
HOW TO OBSERVE
If you know a child who is ill at home or spending time in the hospital, give him or her a bunch of brightly colored balloons. Find out their favorite color or cartoon character including a message just for them. The smile you receive will be worth more than anything money can buy. Use #GiveABunchOfBalloonsMonth to share on social media.
I’m not going to get a garden in this year, however we appear to have a zillion strawberries, raspberries and blueberries! I hope some of them get ripe before the house sells.
Hot tonight, so I turned on the fan which also turned on one lone overhead light? Never did that before! I guess I’ll have to unscrew it tomorrow. Don’t want to turn on the air con this early, but I might have to.
Can’t open a window cause a frog is advertising his virility outside my bedroom window!

Definition Aphorism is a statement of truth or opinion expressed in a concise and witty manner. The term is often applied to philosophical, moral , and literary principles. Yes folks….I had to Google it. Chesney has quite the vocabulary.

Here’s another aphorism for you, Chesney: No man is an island (John Donne).

“What’s life doing pedaling (peddling for non-cats) fruit?” has to be one of best philosophical questions ever.
