Sigh. First off, words seldom justify lethal force (unless they are I gonna beat the fool out of you or I’m gonna kill you). Second, never shove a gun in your pants (front or back) without using a holster that completely covers the trigger area. Third, she better go take the CCL class and apply for her permit to carry concealed. And she better be prepared to wait the full 90 days for them to run the criminal background check and the mental health check and everything else. And don’t stop at the basic conceal class but take some more like how to clear your house safely.
I’m trying to figure out why the author feels that “…the woman…drew the wrong conclusion…” Seems to me that she drew precisely the correct conclusion. One can only hope that when push comes to shove, she draws her gun as well as she drew her conclusion.
I can relate to her. My voice likes to turn itself off at times, and I sometimes slip into stuttering. A college teacher taught me to snap my fingers with each syllable. Now, when my voice slips I stop, snap my fingers a few times and take it from there.
This is the American Way isn’t it? Fire power beats brains and intelligence and ability. Why the Shogun forced the suppression of gun powder and confiscated all fire arms. For it meant that no samurai could win against a peasant armed with a pistol.

People who come up with stinging ripostes 3 years later seldom get shot.

Moral of the story…..sometimes the best battles are not those won, but those avoided.

Sounds reasonable. Let the weapon speak for you.
