I like the final panel. As well as delivering the funny conclusion – a sight gag and a punchline – it also resembles someone looking through a telescope at the pirate and his pet. There were probably pirates who kept dogs rather than parrots. Viking captains are remembered for keeping dogs and for having their last pet dog killed and cremated with them. They hoped that this meant their dog would join them in Valhalla.

Rover has a lot of talents, but playing the role of a parrot is not one of them!

Good to see the “boys” having summer fun.
