So the comic is across the reality. But the topsider was invisible. So… Eden is in a pocket of it’s in reality, sharing space and time across all those possibilities. IT is in one of them. IT is something else. The topsider took the kid because he just showed up outside… Back in the real world
Maybe it wants its eyes back. At first I thought that all Ravenscroft has to do is remove the glasses to cut any connection with the unseen…but;something invisible had been able to grab Chic, who didn’t have anything. This shows that the phenomenon isn’t limited to the beach.
So, what if One/I didn’t leave when Wally woke up? What if, bereft of means to interact with the reality Wally, Kirbee, and Chic inhabit, it turned its attention to Ravenscroft and those goggles and gloves?
We have been told in the past, there is no infectious mutagenic plague. Might this be the realization of two dimensions that have become tangled by the release of Amesworth Radiation? One dimension of Human habitation, and the other dimension of Cartoon habitation. The “Veil” is the damaged barrier of reality that normally keeps these dimensions (strings) separate.
Hmmm, is Mr. Ravenscroft looking up at a ceiling fan, by chance? Duffy isn’t likely to be able to see whatever is there that has Ravenscroft in such a panic, unless Ravenscroft loans him those Topsider goggles again.
Ravenscroft did remark earlier about how Wally had the smell of “God” on him. The readers assumed he was talking about Marx but no…it was likely Jim who followed him to Eden to bring his warped idea of judgment to the colony.
A perverse thought occurred to me today. What if this “god creature” (or whatever it is) is attracted to Ravenscroft’s glasses? Perhaps they’re a way he/she/it can jump from reality to reality.
It often feels as if the best way to read this comic is once a month (whether I need to or not): That way, I’m less likely to get upset when a particular day’s strip posts so late that I might as well have skipped that date, anyway.

Time to grab the goggles, Duffy!
This is one creepy joint.

Exit… stage right. Duffy is unaffected by it, IT isn’t there for him, if it was he would see IT to.

Apparently it’s attacking Ravesncroft. If it’s not one Damned Thing, it’s another. Ambrose Bierce wrote about such a thing.

Wally’s only source of answers is being silenced.

Last time wasn’t it a comic book? This time, something more serious.

The recorder may be Topsider tech, so what it records may not be what we don’t see. “Hello, you’ve reached IT support. How may I redirect your call?”

Is Ravenscroft pointing towards the ceiling or struggling with something/(one)?

One thing for sure, in this situation Ravenscroft isn’t the smartass he was with Wally.

A frivolous post for the day: I just noticed that Aaron’s names for Duffy’s cohorts are similar to two US brands of ketchup: Hunt’s and Heinz.
