Before we were told our department was in negotiations to be sold to another company, the supervisor asked me when I was going to retire. Anyway, I ended up with early retirement at age 58 and two years pay. Should have pressed for four so I didn’t have a gap from when that ended and I could start collecting Social Security. Ah, hindsight…
I was only let go from one job and it was all over a miscommunication (one supervisor let me call in sick on the last day of training and said it wouldn’t count against me and another supervisor said it was against the rules and a fireable offense) and while I was in the elevator to start my shift the VP of Operations was looking at me strangely like “what are you doing here?” and I didn’t know why until an hour later when I was escorted out. No one told me I was fired until after I started working my shift. Apparently, a supervisor was supposed to call me at home and tell me to not bother coming in but they dropped the ball. It was a horrible place to work anyways and the company folded 3 years later.

She forget to hit “send” on the email, doubt she would take the time to do this in person.

I found out when I started to open the door marked “Employees Only” and the boss yelled, “Not so fast, you!”

My husband found out SEVERAL MONTHS after he had to take medical leave! (Yes, I know there’s a possible lawsuit there.)

Yeah, he is just a delivery guy, and since Rita has no clue who works for her, she thinks everybody does…or did.

Once, when I was in the Navy, I attended a change-of-command ceremony (this is a big deal, folks).
As one sailor made a presentation to the departing CO, the CO asked (on mike) if he was new, he didn’t recognize the sailor.
The sailor replied “no, sir, I’ve been here 3 years.”
(Ooops.)

Careful, Rita, he may want his red stapler back. So, you better have a spare water bottle available. Cuz, plastic does melt… just saying.
