I’ve never quite understood why a so-called “boy’s” bike had a bar across it. Obviously not needed structurally since a “girl’s” bike does not have one. And it makes it doubly hard to get on (and off!).
I had a friend that hopped up on both peddles, standing up to launch himself across the street when the crank broke in two and he came down hard, I do not know if he ever had any children.

After falling on my a** a few times, I finally remembered to lower the bike to the ground to get on the @%*$# thing….. lol
