If it were only ONE….Unfortunately they all flip out when you try to put sane legislation on their “hobby.”
Most crimes, including Timmy Mc’s come from STOLEN weapons that their “responsible” owners don’t take care of. “Cooling off time” is regarded as a breach of freedom. Training requirements are seen as unnecessary even though you have to pass a some kind of test just to drive a car, one not nearly stringent enough either, but at least a test.
I understand the fears. Everyone in my family can actually use a gun well. But all the stuff out there is really in need of careful regulation. eg, Couple years back, I go into WalMart to look for ammo and the guy behind the counter feels the need to joyfully tell me how the gun industry has ducked a Cal. law regulating semi-auto but cutting down the size of the barrel on one weapon and making it a carbine. Wow, nice to know deceit is their middle name.
And the fear mongering on both sides is just as deadly as the weapons.
What I think is interesting is the rhetoric that somehow conservatives are the crazy nuts on shooting rampages caused by proposed restrictions on their weapons or ammo… yet, I’m not aware of a single case that ever fit that mold. In fact, few if any of these rampaging shooters was even a conservative, let alone reacting to a restriction bill.
It’s amazing what some people will believe just because it fits their desires.
But just for that reason, please, anyone, list instances with rampaging shooters that have proven to be conservatives… primarily with their violent tirade acting because of restrictions or proposed restrictions on guns or bullets.
And I mean proven, not the stupidity of moronic rhetoric about a Loughner who wasn’t even Republican let alone conservative (or the other way around)… let alone politically motivated.
DJ, you missed the story about the guy in Pittsburgh that killed three cops, because the NRA or Beck or somebody had persuaded him that Obama intended to confiscate guns?
Tucson guy was influenced that fiat money, as opposed to gold standard, was a government attempt to somehow control him. Sounds like Ron and Rand to me.

80 million gun owners in the US, one flips out and creates mayhem, and the cartoonists just can’t wait to exploit the aftermath. Nice.

Gun Nuts Cereal. Hey, I’d try a box. Does it leave powder residue on your bowl?

Statistically most gun crimes are done by the Liberal minded who can never seem to be able to rationally solve anything.
So as usual they fall back on obsurd cartoons or talking points to press an agenda of false facts to undermine the Constitution.
Whether it be to suppress free speech (conservative)or gun rights.

Wow, RC. I see you missed the amendment on free speech. Seems to be a universal flaw in the gun nut constitution.
“Shut up or I’ll shoot you!” No wonder I respect them so much.
And nobody said I came from Cal. The WalMart guy was in MI. You forget gunnies are national in their news net?

DJ, not just the conservatives nor all of them.
Goldwater saw no need for automatics in domestic life when he didn’t have to get elected.
But usually the leftists use bombs so I save my anti fertilizer diatribe for them. ;-)

Didn’t this originally say “Texas Gun Nuts”? Censorship?
