Are you telling me that Princess Leia’s conversation with Obi-Wan Kenobi wasn’t real? Or, I mean, it WAS real, and he was not a hologram? Or, wait… I don’t want to hear that.
Except that it still isn’t 3-D, it is a flat image with no change of perspective as you see it from different positions.
True holographic projections have only been developed in the past year or so, and even then they’re limited to crude vector graphics.
