Q: So, when you tell people that you’re the grandson of President Tyler, what kind of response do you get? Do they always believe you? Or do people sometimes think you’re making it up?
A: I don’t know, I don’t bring it up.
Q: Never comes up?
A: See, I don’t bring it up, so, that question doesn’t come up.
Q: When people come and take tours of the house, you don’t ever come out and say, “Hey! I’m John Tyler’s grandkid!”?
A: [Laughs] Not that way, no. I am sometimes called the great-grandson — we have to correct that.
Well, Tyler (1790-1862) fathered 15 children through two wives (the first wife left him a widower). Still according to WIkipedia, it is Lyon Gardiner Tyler, Jr. (1924-____) and Lyon’s brother Harrison Ruffin Tyler (1928-____).
and for you avocado lovers…. all of the Haas avocados in the world are descended from a single amazing mutated avocado tree grown in a garden in Southern California… The wonders of propagation …. now that’s unbelievable!
so what, did Tyler have a kid when he was like 70 or something, who then had his own kids at 70 who are now in their 70’s or something like that? It’s pretty impressive for 230 years to be spanned by only 3 generations of a family

That can’t be true about macadamia nuts. They grow them in Hawaii.

That sounds like a great excuse to go out drinking. We’re having brunch tomorrow.

It reads almost as if the grandchildren were born in 1790. I’m sure that wasn’t done on purpose.

It still is . . . brunch that is.

So it isn’t an amalgamation of breakfast and lunch, after all. It’s the sound of puking. Got it.

That would mean the two grandsons have lived through 35 Presidents…

John Tyler’s death was the only one in presidential history not officially recognized in Washington, due to his allegiance to the Confederacy.

I don’t believe that about John Tyler’s grandsons. If they were born in 1790, they’d be 229 years old!
