Ah, the un-demanding luv of a pet dog……I brought a dog home from a pound….she was ~3 years and due to be euthanized…..slept with her the first night in the garage….after that, we were joined at the hip……I still miss her………….
Golden retrievers are known for their lean. If your golden is within touching range, their shoulder is against your leg, or a paw is on your foot, etc. And, God forbid that you don’t have at least on hand or leg against them when they are sleeping beside you. The very best, though, for them is when they are wet, and they can share the joyous dampness with you. No cookie crumbs are ever required.
Our new little guy (OK, he’s been with us 2 years, but he still feels new) is VERY tactile, especially with my husband, his preferred human. A paw has to be touching, or his head resting on, SOMEthing of his. Even when he plays with toys with us he likes to find ways to be touching with paws. He’s a riot.

My wife put training treats in a jacket pocket once. A couple days later, she found the jacket on the floor and the pocket lining had been chewed up.
