If only Paige kept that scrap pice of paper that showed her assigned locker and its combination printed thereon.

Today’s kids would save all that info on their cell phones … no need to memorize anything.

I have a recurring nightmare that I am back in school and can’t remember where my locker is.

Don’t disrupt her concentration. Now she’ll probably have to start all over.

And I was about to say “Surely your waist is bigger than that!”

No option now except to change schools.

As I recall, freshmen lockers are in the dark, scary basement.

Remember the scene in Gross Pointe Blank where the main character goes to his old locker 10 years later? I could come close but probably not find the exact one. And the combination? Fagidaboutit!

I remember the Locker number and the combination I just don’t remember where the school is.

Once my locker smelled so bad they made me clean it out!

Wait…wasn’t Paige still in middle school “last year”? Or did she finally become a sophomore, which means – gasp! – Peter actually graduates?

I’m gray-headed, and I still have dreams about forgetting my locker combination and where and what my classes are. My dream self now carries an index card in her backpack which works unless I have the naked in front of the class dream. Dang those insecurities.

Just close your eyes and repeat it 10 to 15 times and you will not forget

“Sure I remember it, it’s the one that opens when I dial 24-13-32, silly!”

I remember when it was easy to remember the combination for this year’s lock. The school issued them so they could do searches by using the key on the back… and so we had to re-memorize our combo every year. Now, I barely know my own phone number or street address.

I used to have a recurring nightmare about forgetting where my locker was in school. I wondered why until I read in a psychology magazine that this is a very common nightmare, along with other school-related nightmares (such as the big day of finals test and realizing you haven’t attended school all year, or forgetting which class you’re supposed to currently be in, etc).

It occurred to me there is something seriously wrong with our education system when some of the most common nightmares among U.S. citizens involves attending school.

Did I have a locker in high school? I forget.

For some reason, I can remember the combination I had in 6th grade (47-1-29), but not any of the others from 7th-12th.
