Ummm let’s rethink that” play hard to get” phrase again, Gertrude!

“And if they don’t chase after me, I’ll play hard to give…”

Considering that the stereotypical caveman courtship involved the use of a club, playing hard to get might not be a bad idea.

Only one of them needs to play hard to get. The other will be wondering where the men ran to.
