wow! I remember when you could buy those really tiny bottles of perfume at the Ben Frankline store and “Evening in Paris” was one of them! in a cobalt blue glass bottle
I cannot stand to smell perfume when I am in a restaurant! I want to smell my FOOD. Actually, I have come to very much dislike ALL perfume and cologne. Unless it’s extremely light. No one should smell your cologne unless they are hugging you. That. Close. >sigh<
I don’t know what what the City of Venice,Italy is like these days or smells like, but back in the mid 80’s it was Very shall I say “RIPE” and was the Only Place I volunteered to Stay Onboard for Engineering Watches and turned down Liberty. You could Smell the waterways from where our Ship was Anchored. It might be cleaned up now,but back then,No Way ! The canals doubled as their sewers. This was verified by those who went ashore on Liberty. I don’t think Paris could of ever been like it or worse.
One day I thought the woman in the cubicle next to mine had spilled a bottle of perfume, the odor was so pungent. No, it’s just what she had “dabbed on” that morning.
There ARE some people, like me, who have a very real & annoying sensitivity to aerosols such as perfumes. Perfumes are nice – in very small doses! Please. Thank you.

Apparently they did not mention which evening in Paris. In this case it must be Nov 16, 1940

If I can smell you before I see you, you definitely have too much of something on.
