And Phoebe’s setting herself up for a repeating day. Yeah saw the recent EG special, plus a Sofia the First episode where the title character repeats her birthday after having a less that happy one.
I only remember the song by Limahl from the movie soundtrack. Didn’t enthuse me enough to go looking for the movie, and I don’t think my life is the poorer for it… Hope Phoebe liked the book!
My nephew Stuart was about six when he saw “The Neverending Story”. He later joked that he enjoyed it but had to leave before the end. I don’t think that was such a bad joke from a six-year-old.
If you want your story to never end, write GOOD sequels. one bad chapter and the audience turns on you. Also people gibe up too fast. Rather then learn from mistakes and try again, people just give up when they see a story loose money.
If that prospect scares Phoebe, than she better not read any holy books. Not only does the hero usually die in the middle, but the commentators rattle on forever…
My suspicion that those Unicorns or Monoceras are now immortal. As any well advanced beings would be like fairies who have been around for 300 million years.

That movie scared me so much as a kid. Most of the puppets looked so darn ugly, and that wolf was scarier than any horror movie monsters I know.
If Phoebe does decide to watch that film, she’d better skip the sequels. Especially the third one.

That’s another thing we can sue for false advertising.

I could listen to the theme song all day.

Some names are very misleading… like that restaurant TGI Friday’s. I once thought it was something that only opened on Friday.

Before seeing the movie, did anyone else thought Falkor the Luck Dragon was a dog at first?

That’s what always amused me about that story—for something calling itself “neverending,” it does still have a clear sense of an “ending” to it.
Of course, though, as I recall, the point of that title runs deeper than that. But where’s the fun in that, y’know?

There’s a hole in my bucket dear Liza dear Liza
There’s a hole in my bucket, dear Liza a hole!
Well mend it dear Willie, you silly dear Willie
Well mend you silly, dear Willie just mend it!
With what shall I mend it, dear Liza, dear Liza?
… do y’all remember the rest of it?

Instead of thinking of summer ending, just think of fall, winter and spring as place holders til summer gets back from vacation.

Phoebe probably wishes she could wear flipflops all year.
