My husband does that to me all the time! Especially when I’m reading, and I usually am, I just go away, I don’t hear anything. He’ll walk up to me or say something and I jump out of my skin!
My parents had a family that lived across the street. On Senior cutout day, the oldest son sneaked home after parents left. Neighbors saw someone in the house & called the police. He had trouble proving he lived there until the neighbors came over & identified him and apologized to him & police. But they didn’t know it was him when they called. I sort of had a similar problem, My husband & I were coming up for another occasion & were heading to my parents house on the way home. They were also coming home & although I had a key was worried if we got there first as I only knew a couple of neighbors as I’d been gone for over 10 years & all my ID was in my married name. They were home already, so no problem. The next day I was around the corner visiting the woman I used to babysit for & she laughed. He husband (was was going to law school at night when I was doing the babysitting) was now the Magistrate who I would have come up against had the worst happened & we were arrested for breaking & entering. When he came home a little later he said the same thing, we would have been out & he probably would have been laughing.
My scare? Many, many years ago, I was home alone and listening to music. Kenny Rogers was singing Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love to Town. At the end when he says, “For God’s sake turn around” I thought someone was in the house.
Seeing how this is a comic, I’d like Ralph to test out what we see in cartoons…jump up and scare the crap out of her..I want to see if she really would jump up through the ceiling, like I have always seen before.
I’m thinking we all know what’s coming next! Although knowing Ralph, this could backfire & Honeybunch ends up scaring him (either accidentally or on purpose!)
