Image search for IH “gimme” caps give me a few that are in some sort of woodlands camo pattern, some that are black with a white or red front panel, but most are red, red, red with the IH logo on a white square.
Gramps must be a hobby farmer, ‘cause around here bales are round and weigh about half a ton on average. Even the old fashion ones can weigh up to 100 pounds. Not sure how useful lil’ Colton here would have been in reality. But, I guess it’s the life lesson that counts.
I love a good place to be on vacation. But if you’re in simply a good place to be, maybe you don’t need the vacation. Although, to refer back to yesterday’s model, there’s nothing that says the two have to be mutually exclusive.
Haying is work, for which one may expect payment. Shoveling out the barn, weeding the kitchen garden, feeding and watering the chickens, the pigs and the one cow… are chores for which one may expect to keep eating there, and a place to sleep.

Mallet may have been avoiding red because of the possible recoil.

First mesh caps I ever saw, in Wisconsin, back in the mid 60’s, were yellow ones from Caterpillar.
For probably a couple of years, we called all hats in that style “Cat hats.”
They were for farmers, and 4H kids… and I guess truckers but I didn’t know any.
No one thought of them as baseball caps, cos baseball caps were cotton, and not as high as that front panel.
Unless Mallet colors his own panels it could be a colorist unfamiliar with the logos making the IH hat green.
