In general, people get paid well for doing jobs others can’t do or won’t do

Groomers try to express the anal glands, but they really can’t do it as well as a vet. My friend’s dog needs it done at least once every two or three months, and the groomer just can’t get it all.

Neither was Roscoe

Yeah, been there done that when I worked for a vet and for a little while on my own dogs. It is EXACTLY as much fun as it sounds like.

When all else fails, pay somebody to do it right the first time.

Seems that humans too still have anal glands. But only one paper from 1961 broaches the subject.

Vets do this procedure as a regular routine for guide dogs and service dogs. A blind person cannot work with a dog if a collection of other males are hovering around him.

I love dogs, but this is another reason I am not getting one. Thanks mr Crane for enlightening me.
