I’m going to be a mommy again! My niece sent me a picture of an orange kitty (my fave) who had been attacked by a dog. He’s at the Vet School in Pullman WA. He has to have his eye removed. She said she would do the surgery for free if it was for sure he would be adopted. He has some infections from the dog bites so she will get those under control before she removes the eye and neuters him. I wish I could post pictures on here, (not that I know how to do that) so you all can see how cute he is.I’m thinking of naming him Cheddar or Colby Jack because he’s orange and white. My last orange kitty was named Butterbean. I can’t wait!
I started my house painting yesterday. I got 2 sections scraped and put on a coat of primer. Today (if it doesn’t rain) I’ll get coat or 2 of paint on those 2 sections and then I can start scraping another section. I like painting, but I HATE scraping off the old peeling paint, so I work in sections so I can see the progress better. But no work painting or anything else tomorrow (the 18th) because that’s my birthday and it’s going to be a “do nothing” day. There’s a potluck community picnic in Black Earth (4 miles away) to remember last year’s flood. Lots of free food. I plan on going to that and I’ll bring some tomatoes from my garden (I think I have a mess of cherry tomatoes to pick) and maybe I’ll make some Rice Krispies bars too.
Laundry day here; if the rain stops, I may go out for a walk later. I also filched a pair of really ratty old track pants that Paul insists on wearing and am consigning them to the trash today.
It’s going to be a hot, humid day, on top of everything.
