    It’s easy to forget, especially for an old bachelor like me, that we are all born knowing_nothing at all._ We have to learn how to do everything. Like learning to breathe and swallow. So shoelace tying is pretty darn intricate. In addition to learning all these how-to’s, we have to learn how-to-fail. Once you’re hopelessly lost on a task, go back to square one. Start over. Don’t keep going in the mistaken belief that you can fix it. Don’t panic. Just start over. Repetition is how you learn these skills.
