Well, if the powder was potassium which she claimed to take for medical reasons, then she has a right to emotionally deny drug dependency. On the other hand, if it is coke or some other drug, then, perhaps, she doth protest too much…
Francesca is back on the blanket, while Olivia is back on the bottle (of something). Bold and eccentric art. I love the two faces of Tracy, separated by the long-legged Friday. There is more than a touch of Fletcher Hanks here.
Why yes Detective Tracy, i DO have a drug problem… i have to take this blood pressure medicine because MY DAMN DOCTOR SAYS I’M TOO HIGH STRUNG! DOYOUTHINKIMTOOHIGHSTRUNGDETECTIVETRACY….WELLDOYOU…HUHHUHHUH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!
We don’t know what the powder was that was found on Clara’s lips. We assume it was the potassium but have no proof. What did Tracy do with the bottle of potassium powder? Why was he in such a rush to get it out of the room but yet promise to give it back? What makes Tracy think Friday is innocent of the crime? Why only question these two? Why is Friday so smugly and prominently shown in the center of the panel? What does she have to do with Tracy’s questioning? Why didn’t Tracy take everybody down to the station and question them on his own turf? Where are the other cops and investigators scouring the scene for clues? Shou ldn’t they arrive BEFORE or at least at the same time as the coroner? Why would they still be posing on set with a dead body laying in the floor? Is Friday still snapping shots? What else is on her camera roll? Why is Tracy not looking at that?
Who dealt this mess? That’s the real Minit Mystery.
You’d think models would be happier being gorgeous and getting paid big bux for nothing. Maybe they’re so used to getting hit on that they think Tracy is asking them out on a date. “NO!!!”
After careful analysis, I think what we have here is Dick Tracy…The Swimsuit issue..is it over yet? So this artist can go back to his soft porn endeavors
I once was a very good friend of a “supermodel”. She was one of the nicest & smartest people I ever met in my life & nothing like the “models” presented in this story. I know it’s a cartoon strip, but really….
The profiles of Tracy are very good today as they were yesterday. His face and hat seem proportional. It makes me wonder if Pepoy could not see the difference between the growing and shrinking hats in his various depictions or if he didn’t care? The same goes for his shading on Tracy’s face. While it is excellent today, compare today’s depiction with the shading on his face last Sunday and Monday which was horrible. This whole story seems exceptionally sloppily written with the artwork running warm to cold—mostly stiff and cold.
The poses in this Minute Mystery have all been pretty extravagant. I don’t find them as annoying as some people here do; probably because I grew up on Jack Kirby’s overly-dramatic comic artwork. I have to agree with a few people above who find the posing very Kirby-esque. (All the shouting is another symptom of the “Mighty Marvel style” of presentation.)Beyond that, I would say that this is the least intrusive crossover yet. The idea of having a murder take place at a swimsuit photo-shoot is perfectly reasonable, and in such a storyline you need someone to be in charge of the shoot. Ms Foster fills that role quite attractively, without taking anything away from Tracy. (Unlike the Spirit or the Green Horn-Toad, who tended to take over their crossovers.) So I’m enjoying the artwork, as a change of pace, and I find the story concept perfectly acceptable. The writing itself certainly has some flaws, though…
Olivia does have a self-control problem. Perhaps that could have driven her to violence. Francesca “discovered” the body and was all over the presumed crime scene.
We still do not have a clear “winner,” despite Tracy’s sharp interrogations.
Clever art work today, with Friday as divider of the Janus-Tracy image….

Good morning™, interrogators!
Well, they both say they didn’t do it, so the matter is closed. :)

These ladies are suspects in a murder investigation, so they should drop the attitudes and be more cooperative.

Did Tracy walk out on the beach in his yellow hat and trenchcoat just to ask Francesca a question?
I’d be pretty irritated if I was her, too, now that I think about it.

I like the style here, the Tracy mirror image, centered on Friday. Very cool.
Oh yes, and I was pretty busy yesterday, didn’t get to comment, the 9/11 tribute was well done, as usual.
