Some of our customers think that 1138 is a big store, but I never thought of it that way, even though my department (garden center & stationery) is a long way from the break room. We’re not a Supercenter – but there is a Supercenter just a short distance down the Beltline from us.
Patches the foster cat: for the past 10 days, he’s lost weight and stopped eating about 5 days ago. I kept trying different foods – even the very expensive Optimum One. And kitten food. And wet kitten food. Then he started vomiting just liquid since that’s all he we getting.
I took him to the vet yesterday and had the “big” blood panel done. His numbers for pancreatitis and diabetes were high but not life threatening. His white cell count was high, too, which meant he might have some infection which could affect the other numbers. They kept him to do the subQ fluids because I can’t do it. Susan went there this morning and this is what she said:
The plan is for her to pick him later today and take him home so she can do the fluids and add the infection meds via the drip line. And, get started on the paperwork to have Best Friends admit him. Once the fluids are over, they’ll take another reading. Maybe the high numbers are due to some infection – don’t know yet. And, while they wait for an answer from BF, I’ll take him back, Susan said probably Monday. If still no answer from BF by the time we leave for our trip (Sept 28), she’ll take him home until we get back.
Regarding the photo of her as a pineapple: my sister was doing some research on what to do on our upcoming trip to Mt Rushmore and found a photo of what looks like the town square of Rapid City. In the background is a couple sitting a table. She swore it was me and Brad. It sure does LOOK like us. I sent it to some friends they they swear it’s us. It’s NOT us. The last time we were there was probably around 1995 or so and I don’t remember sitting in the town square. That couple must be our dopplegangers.
