If Kassie Jou was guilty how come she waved her potassium in front of the detective’s face? I bet she didn’t keep her dietary supplement under lock and key. It would have been easy to frame her. I don’t see how you could possibly rule out suicide either, or even idiotic if-it’s-good-for-her-it’ll-be-good-for-me self-overdose. Ah well, that’s what lawyers are for.
No real twists and turns to make for a compelling mystery. From now on I’ll try going with what looks so obvious. But alas, Ray’s trial will never be and so the motive will fade into the mist, and that’s the real “Mystery” ladies and Gents !
Things like motive and means are figured out long before the DA agrees to issue an arrest warrant. I expect a lot of things will come out at this trial.
Well, I was slightly off…Friday did successfully frame Kassie (she must have known about her potassium deficiency) but she let Tracy point the finger at Kassie (since she and Tracy are friends, Friday assumed she wouldn’t be considered as a suspect). My understanding is that Friday Foster was an action-adventure strip, and not amateur detective stories. The motive is still that Friday Foster is now back from 45 years in limbo, ready to star in a revived strip! (Hey that sounds almost believable LOL)
Kassie Jou: “Why did I kill Clara Clearwater? I’ll tell you why! She stole the Edison Edible Underwear account from me, that’s why! She stole my lifelong dream, to model that line!”
I am curious as to why the character of Dexter was even introduced. Two wasted panels.
I am curious as to why a whole day was wasted on Friday’s “joke-a-day” camera puns.
Remove another day from the story for the 9/11 tribute. Figure in all of the 2-panel days over the 2-week period and this story was thinner than Grandma’s chicken soup.
Why Friday Foster? It could have been any photographer—man or woman. There was not enough of Friday Foster to even get a sense of her personality. Her strip has been defunct for 45 years and only old geeks remember it. So, what was the point?
Tracy’s slipping. Only 3 of the 4 models are standing in a , shall we say, ‘provacative’ manner in the first panel. Although I believe the corpse ‘assumed the position’. Gotta give Tracy a lot of credit for pulling that one.
If 1) the potassium was thick enough to leave a noticeable coating on the ice-cubes, and 2) the ice-cubes haven’t melted in this time, … I wonder why Clara would ever drink from that cup.
Let her break free and have Lt. Phillip Gerard search for her all over the country and in all different situations, as she screams " I am innocent" That might be exciting!
Means and opportunity—were available to anyone of the ladies, even if the potassium salts “belonged” to Kassie Jou! Of course, the mechanics of the murder are totally improbable: no one would have drunk enough potassium-coated ice cube melt-off to imbibe a lethal dose.
Magic ice cubes, by the way. First, they are not there. Then (today) they are.
This case is so badly botched that the D.A. will never bring it to trial. Kassie’s lawyer will have her cut loose and the charges dropped within a day or two. If she really did do it, she will get away with murder (as often happens in our RL Tracyville).
It was nice of the girls to pose for us the past two weeks. That’s all this MM had to offer….
If you’re going to have a murder mystery end one of the detectives is a professional photographer, shouldn’t photographic evidence be featured in the solution?I’ll say it again: Minute Mysteries were a good idea for a chance of pace that just isn’t working out. Time to retire it.

No motive? Both the motive and the cause of death will come out at trial?

“As for motive, I imagine we’ll discover that later,”
Translation: They ran out of room in the panel, and time, to explain it.

Not to mention that the amount of potassium required to deliver an immediate fatal overdose couldn’t be slipped into a single glass of water.

We know the motive : Showing 2 weeks of pretty girls in scanty clothing. The motive for the murder? Who cares!

A mini misery we’ve just endured
As Tracy said, “Please no more!”
’Tis sad to think of glory days
Remembering all the cheers and hoorays
When all we’ve got in the here and now
Are stories where all we can say is “Wow!”
avenger09 about 5 years ago
I must confess
Unlike the rest
To feeling blessed
This wasn’t a mess
I quite enjoyed
The method employed
That helped avoid
A story destroyed
Well done!

Circumstantial at best. She did it just because the salts are hers? I “imagine” we’ll find a motive later? Not your best work Dick.

I looked up the symptoms of a potassium overdose and there’s a list of symptoms from feeling tire, to vomiting, and in some cases, death…
And such a death wouldn’t be quick or quiet like a death from Cyanide, etc.
Also, Clara should have tasted the potassium and stopped drinking it…
But, there would be no “minute mystery” ( read “two week” mystery… ) X-D

Of course it was potassium salts. Potassium metal in air decomposes into an explosive oxide. Would have been obvious.
