Brings to mind the ‘Telephone’ game. The final message is near unrecognizable. Yet all will swear it’s the truth.

Given the thousands of historical inaccuracies that have been revealed by research, any modern test on American history could be a cause for worry.

Critical thinking is dead. People believe what they are told especially if it reinforces what they already believe.

Occam’s razor states that the simplest explanation that describes an event is most likely true.

Murphy’s Blunt Instrument states that the most convoluted explanation that involves the most conspirators and serial combination of unlikely events is most likely to be believed.

I was raised to believe that a man’s word was his bond (sexism aside), and a handshake was as good as a contract. You ALWAYS trusted a person who gave you his word, until he broke that word, and then you NEVER trusted him again, EVER!

I am still a firm believer in that dictum; having lived it my entire life – there is no such thing as faux or alternative facts; there is only “truth” and “lies”. Life is very simple for me; it’s either right or wrong – there is no equivocation.
