Getting old is naturally beneficial for the species. Reproducing new offspring is a surer way that your species survives rather than the case where one never dies of aging. As aging isn’t the only way one can does of, as there are other ways one can dies from – accidents, violence, infections, getting eaten by a predator (this is less likely these days in case of humans), and diseases, etc., a slower aging process isn’t really more beneficial, it appears, and it’s probably more beneficial for the species as a whole with the individuals aging away and the young offspring taking their place.
