I Googled “Google” in the hopes of taking down modern society, but it didn’t work. Maybe tomorrow.

Naw. Humans have always chosen ignorance over knowledge. The internet is just a new medium for an old phenomenon.

The internet encourages people to know a little bit about a lot of things, but discourages real, in-depth knowledge.

Information does not equal knowledge. The internet is very helpful for a quick information check. But it takes in-depth reading, careful study of all available facts, and some critical thinking to have actual knowledge. But in-depth reading, careful study of all available facts, and some critical thinking is hard work. It’s so much easier to query on the net and present the result as “Knowledge.”
